Welcome to A Cozy Creative Life

I’ve always been a person who notices little things. Someone once told me that I see things differently. That was strange to me because I thought everyone saw things as I did.

During my 36 years of teaching art, I hoped to bring that same vision to my students. I had a poster hanging in my classroom that said, “Every child is an artist.” I believe everyone is creative in their own way, even if they don’t know it yet.

Now I’m retired, and I’d like to share some of my everyday life with you-antique finds, flowers, cats, creative projects, jigsaw puzzles, travel and whatever else catches my attention.

I find inspiration everywhere, and I enjoy seeing where it leads me.

Explore A Cozy Creative Life

There’s always something catching my eye or inspiring me. Here are a few of the things you’ll find along the way.

Home & Everyday Beauty

I love creating a home filled with things that have meaning-from antique finds and favorite collections to flowers, art and the little changes that make a room feel fresh again.

Gardens & Flowers

My garden is always changing with the seasons. Watching what’s blooming, tending favorite plants, and discovering surprises that appear along the way are some of the simple pleasures I enjoy most.

Creative Projects

There’s usually some kind of project underway-decoupage, repurposing an interesting find, or learning something new. For me, the fun is often as much in the process as the finished piece.

Puzzles

There’s something both satisfying and challenging about working on a jigsaw puzzle. I enjoy the process of searching for shapes and colors and watching the picture slowly come together, one piece at a time.

Cats & Companions

Cats have been part of my life from the time I was an infant until just a few years ago. Each one had a distinct personality and story all their own, and together they became part of so many chapters of my life.

Travel

Travel gives me a chance to see new places, notice details, and find inspiration along the way. I often take photographs of the things that catch my eye so I can remember them and return to those ideas later.

Art & Inspiration

“Art is everywhere,” I used to tell my students. It’s still how I see the world—in the colors of my garden, the shape of an old object, or a detail that catches my eye when I travel. Even though I’m no longer teaching art, that way of seeing has stayed with me. This blog is a place to share what I notice and the stories behind it.

I’m Cindy

I’m a retired art educator who has always loved making things, gardening, and collecting old pieces for my home. Here I share my projects, antique finds, travels, and the stories behind the things I love—with a few cats along the way.
