There were times when Scottie would make himself comfortable on the bay windowsill while I worked in my craft room. That was fine with me. He could watch what I was doing, and I could actually get something done.
But eventually, the windowsill was never quite close enough.
Sooner or later, Scottie would end up right on the craft table.
I tried closing the door a few times, thinking I might accomplish a little more without my very large Maine Coon assistant in the middle of everything. Scottie had other ideas. He would cry and paw at the door until I finally gave in and let him back inside.
On this particular day, I was decoupaging a pumpkin. I had fabric, scissors and supplies spread across the table—and, of course, Scottie. He settled himself right in the middle of the project and stretched one enormous paw across my workspace.
I’m not sure how much actual help he provided.
But looking at this photograph now, I realize he wasn’t really interrupting my creative time.
He was part of it.
